Overview

Sri Lanka has more than 50 sites related to the legend written over 2000 years ago in India, talks of Rama’s rescue of his beautiful princess wife Sita from the clutches of Ravana who was based in Lankapura, then capital of island Lanka Dvipa. Sita was abducted in the sky chariot – PushpakaVimana (DhanduMonara). Ravana was eventually slain and Rama becomes king of Lanka. In his efforts Rama’s half monkey-half human general Hanuman, assisted him with devotion and dedication. This tour explore some of selected sites which was remarkable places of this legend.
